Each of us aims to adopt a careful attitude to our personal data.

Every day, we share Gigabytes of information with our friends, family, and employees. Our information is valuable because it is confidential and we only want to share it with people we trust. However, much of this data is processed by large companies - Big Tech - and our information is stored on their servers. It is a significant transfer of personal trust to have your data looked after by these third parties.

But, why do we so confidently trust big companies like Google or Microsoft to process, filter, and transport our data every day? They are testing our hard-won loyalty in terms of treating us as a unit of data that can be bought and sold.

How will Web3 make privacy really work for society?

Enter Hoxna: Hoxna, the synthetic reality project from the TerraEarth Foundation, is ready to fight for users’ rights to safety and privacy. It uses the Solana blockchain platform, which is based on PoS (Proof of Stake). PoS is inherently secure and Solana is completely decentralised, preventing data from being stored in one place (with the ownership and security issues that such a strategy invites).

More generally, blockchain is an architecture for building databases that, in addition to storing information, can serve as a source of “truth”. This gives confidence that the information in the system is genuine and cannot be changed without the consent of all interested parties, which reduces the possibility of unwanted and unchecked actions.

What is also worth noting is that Hoxna’s office is located in Europe (Bratislava, Slovakia). We monitor the forthcoming EU initiatives such as the Digital Services Act (DSA) and the Digital Markets Act (DMA). These acts create a legal framework which ensures the safety of users, protects of fundamental rights, and supports a fair and open online environment. All of these factors are entirely within the spirit of Hoxna.

Along with the United States, the European Union has the most developed system of online legal guarantees. The European Charter of Human Rights recognizes the right to the protection of personal data. In particular, it states:

"everyone has the right to the protection of personal data relating to him or her."

And we honour that.

Hoxna is on a mission to deliver a synthetic reality by creating a digital twin of earth that blurs the lines between the physical and digital powered by a blockchain built upon the physical real estate market. Our project is robust, secure, stable, and open source.
